Demons

The old cliché: there's a monster in each one of us...
I think I have many and I have managed to tame them most of the time...
It's when I dismiss them that they are the strongest though...

I am the devil, the devil in me
My voice hoarse
My dark an ever disintegrating void

I am the devil, my shoulder his wheel
His hand smearing my back
Shrouding my inner walls
With regenerating filth

I am a fool, I hope, I feel
But
I am not afraid
I am not weak

I am the devil,
The devil I keep
It's the demons I want
To forget
It's the demons I want to beat
